Found naturally in highly fragrant plants and herbs such as mangoes, hops, bay laurel leaves, thyme, lemongrass, basil, and cannabis, Myrcene is a prominent botanical terpene widely celebrated for its remarkably relaxing and soothing properties. It presents a distinctively sweet, musky, and pungent aroma with rich notes of ripe fruit. As a vital aromatic compound naturally produced by plant resin glands, it plays a key role in the flavour and scent profiles of many cherished botanical families.

In holistic wellness and advanced topical formulation, Myrcene is highly prized for its deeply calming profile. It serves as an exceptional active ingredient in targeted massage oils, restorative body cremes, and soothing muscle rubs designed to alleviate tension, support healthy blood circulation, and reduce the sensation of physical discomfort. In ambient diffusion, it acts as an outstanding natural sedative for the nervous system, helping to ease the mind, relax the body, and cultivate an intensely peaceful atmosphere that supports a restorative night’s sleep.

Skincare Ritual & Well-being Applications: Within a holistic self-care routine, Myrcene is universally revered as a profound physical relaxant and emotional tranquiliser. Diffusing 3–5 drops of this sweet, musky terpene during your evening wind-down instantly helps to ease nervous tension, quiet an overactive mind, and prepare your space for deep rest. When beautifully diluted into a restorative night time massage oil, taking the time to slowly work these grounding, fruit-tinged notes into tight muscles transforms a functional recovery step into a deliberate, euphoric evening ritual that actively soothes the central nervous system and gently guides the body into a state of profound, sweet dreams.

Formulation & Safety Guidelines:
Application: Designed for targeted muscular and joint massage blends, soothing body cremes, natural sleep-support formulations, and deeply relaxing ambient atmospheric diffusion.

Formulation Note: This is a highly concentrated, pure isolated terpene. For topical cosmetic or massage applications, it must be carefully diluted before use. We recommend a strict dilution rate of 1% to 2% in a suitable high-quality carrier oil (such as Jojoba Oil Golden, Almond Oil Sweet, or Coconut Oil Fractionated (MCT) or a lipid-based cream base to prevent localized dermal irritation while maximizing its soothing therapeutic benefits.

Storage: Terpenes are highly volatile aromatic compounds. To preserve its structural integrity and sweet, musky aroma, ensure the bottle is kept tightly closed. Store in a cool, dark environment away from direct UV exposure and extreme heat.

Safety: For external cosmetic and atmospheric use only. Do not ingest unless strictly advised by a qualified medical professional. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and never apply to broken or highly irritated skin.
- General Safety: Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin when trying a new diluted terpene product. If you are pregnant, nursing, or have serious medical conditions, please consult a qualified aromatherapy practitioner or healthcare professional before use. Extreme caution is advised when using highly concentrated terpenes around children.

Zurma Essential Oils – Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
