Turmeric (Curcuma Longa) CO₂ total Extract is a concentrated, golden yellow extract made from organic turmeric rhizomes. Supercritical CO₂ extraction preserves a wide spectrum of the plant’s volatile and non-volatile constituents, especially the turmerones that define turmeric’s warm, spicy aroma and its well-known anti inflammatory and skin-supportive properties.
This extract contains 70–90% essential oil with exceptionally high turmerone content and only traces of curcumin, giving it a stronger aromatic and skincare profile compared to steamed turmeric oil. It offers potent antioxidant, soothing, and protective qualities suitable for topical blends, massage products, skincare, and natural perfumery.
Why CO₂ Turmeric Is Special
Compared to steam-distilled turmeric oil, CO₂-total extract:
-
retains the full turmerone spectrum (ar-, alpha-, and beta-turmerone)
-
contains additional sesquiterpenes such as alpha phellandrene, alpha zingiberene, and sesquiphellandrene
-
offers a deeper, richer composition
-
has very low curcumin content (0.12%) which makes it more stable and less staining than ground turmeric or tinctures
-
requires 10–20 kg of dried rhizome to produce 1 kg of extract
This extract is powerful, warming, and wonderfully supportive for both skin and muscle care.
