Inspired by the sun-drenched gardens of the Mediterranean and the aromatic herb terraces of Canterbury, Zurma’s The Herby One is an authentic, green-forward botanical synergy. Formulated with 100% pure essential oils of White Grapefruit, Sweet Marjoram, Sweet Fennel, Basil ct. linalool, New Zealand grown Lavender 'Avice Hill', Coriander Seed, and Cold Pressed Lime, it delivers an unmistakably crisp, savoury-herbaceous bouquet balanced by bitter citrus peel and sweet, anise-like seed undertones.

In ambient diffusion and natural formulation, this blend is prized for its balancing, grounding, and clarifying aromatic character. Over 60% of the formulation is powered by classic aromatic kitchen herbs rich in linalool and terpinen-4-ol, designed to cut through dense, busy indoor atmospheres and provide a sense of grounded calm. Rather than leaning on sweet florals or artificial fruit notes, The Herby One stays true to crushed green stems, warm culinary foliage, and fresh botanical zests.

Skincare Ritual & Well-being Applications: Within a natural formulation or home ritual toolkit, The Herby One offers a deeply settling sensory experience. Diffusing 3–5 drops in workspaces, living areas, or kitchen spaces brings a crisp, reviving garden air indoors, ideal for afternoon focus or clearing food aromas. When properly diluted into a nourishing plant carrier oil (such as cold-pressed Sweet Almond or Jojoba), it serves as a clarifying, warming massage oil or bath base that grounds the senses without overwhelming them.

Technical Specifications:

Product Type: 100% Pure Essential Oil Synergy Blend

Ingredients: White Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi), Sweet Marjoram (Origanum majorana), Sweet Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare), Basil ct. linalool (Ocimum basilicum), Lavender 'Avice Hill' (Lavandula angustifolia), Coriander Seed (Coriandrum sativum), and Cold Pressed Lime (Citrus aurantifolia)

Aroma Profile: Distinctly herbal, savoury-green, and warm with bright bitter-citrus top notes and a subtle, sweet aniseed dry-down

Key Botanical Actions: Grounding, clarifying, ambient freshening, and balancing

Formulation & Safety Guidelines:

Application: Formulated for ambient atmospheric diffusion, natural lifestyle room mists, grounding bath soaks, and carefully diluted body oils. Not suitable for undiluted use or high-concentration facial care.

Formulation Note: This blend contains cold-pressed citrus peel oils (White Grapefruit and Lime) containing naturally occurring furocoumarins, alongside rich phenolic and ether fractions from Sweet Fennel. Due to phototoxicity risks from expressed citrus on sun-exposed skin, leave-on topical cosmetic formulations should observe conservative dilution guidelines. For body oils, lotions, or massage balms, we recommend a maximum dermal dilution rate of 0.5% to 1.0% in a stable carrier oil base. Avoid direct sunlight or UV exposure on treated areas for at least 12 to 24 hours post-application. To preserve the fresh terpene profile against autoxidation, store in airtight glass away from light and consider adding 0.1% Tocopherol to the finished lipid phase.

Storage: To protect sensitive monoterpenes and volatile botanical fractions from oxidation, keep the bottle tightly sealed with an airtight dropper cap. Store in a cool, dark place away from heat and direct sunlight.

Critical Safety Warnings:

  • Never apply undiluted to the skin under any circumstances.

  • Contraindications: Due to the Sweet Fennel content (rich in trans-anethole), strictly avoid use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in individuals with estrogen-dependent conditions.

  • Phototoxicity: Contains expressed White Grapefruit and Cold Pressed Lime. Do not apply topically prior to sun or UV bed exposure.

  • Child Safety: Highly concentrated herbaceous oils (notably Basil and Fennel) are unsuitable for young skin and underdeveloped metabolic pathways. Do not apply topically to infants or young children under 6 years of age, and keep well out of reach of tamariki.

  • If you have serious pre-existing medical conditions, are prone to allergic skin reactions, or take prescription medication, consult a qualified practitioner or medical professional before topical use.

Zurma Essential Oils - Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
