Extracted from the rich, roasted, and fermented beans of the Theobroma cacao tree, this premium quality Chocolate Absolute is a highly concentrated, heavenly scented botanical material. Renowned for capturing the ultimate gourmand essence, it presents an amazingly potent, deeply rich chocolate aroma laced with a subtle hint of warm spice. Unlike synthetic fragrance oils, this true absolute offers a beautifully complex, authentic scent profile that remains incredibly true to high-quality dark chocolate.

In luxury cosmetic formulation and fine natural perfumery, Chocolate Absolute is highly prized as a profoundly decadent base note and botanical fixative. It serves as an indulgent aromatic active in rich body butters, sensual massage oils, and bespoke lip balms, bringing a deeply comforting, nostalgic sweetness to any blend. In natural perfumery, its thick, velvety character anchors lighter citrus and floral notes, pairing exceptionally well with vanilla, coffee, resins, and warm spices to create deeply seductive, gourmand fragrances.

Skincare Ritual & Well-being Applications: Within a holistic self-care routine, Chocolate Absolute is universally revered as the ultimate botanical comfort. Diffusing or gently warming this heavenly, spice-tinged essence instantly evokes feelings of nostalgia, deep emotional warmth, and profound relaxation, making it a brilliant tool for easing stress or sadness. When beautifully diluted into a decadent evening body butter or a sensual massage oil, taking the time to slowly work these rich, deeply grounding gourmand notes into the skin transforms a simple moisturizing step into a luxurious, euphoric daily ritual that actively softens the skin and wraps an exhausted mind in pure, comforting indulgence.

Formulation & Safety Guidelines:
Application: Designed as a highly concentrated aromatic active for fine natural perfumery, decadent body butters, lip care formulations, and sensual massage blends.

Formulation Note: This is an exceptionally thick, dark, and highly viscous botanical extract. It will likely require gentle warming in a tepid water bath prior to pouring or blending to encourage flow and seamlessly integrate into your carrier oil or lipid-based emulsion. Due to its intense aromatic potency and dark colour (which can tint lighter cosmetic creams), we strictly recommend a very low dilution rate of 0.5% to 2% for topical cosmetic applications. Note that while Chocolate Absoulte is perfect in creams and with other essential oils, it will sometime separate from fixed oils.

Storage: To preserve its deeply rich aromatic profile and complex botanical compounds, ensure the bottle is kept tightly closed. Store in a stable, cool, dark environment away from extreme temperature fluctuations.

Safety: For external cosmetic and perfumery use only. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and never ingest. Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin when trying a new diluted botanical product. If you are pregnant or have serious medical conditions, please consult a qualified healthcare professional before use.

Contraindications:

- Avoid Undiluted Use: Never apply "neat" to the skin; it is highly concentrated and can cause severe irritation or contact dermatitis.

- Pet Toxicity: Keep strictly away from dogs and cats. The theobromine content is toxic to animals, even in small amounts.

- Stimulant Sensitivity: Contains trace caffeine and theobromine, which may trigger anxiety, insomnia, or palpitations in sensitive individuals.

- Pregnancy & Nursing: Exercise caution and consult a qualified professional, particularly during the first trimester.

- Staining Risk: Due to its thick, dark pigments, it can permanently stain clothing, upholstery, and light-colored linens.

- Cardiac Conditions: Those with heart arrhythmias or hyperthyroidism should use with caution due to the presence of natural stimulants.

Zurma Essential Oils – Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
