Castor oil is valued in cosmetic formulation for its deeply nourishing, occlusive nature. Rich in ricinoleic acid, it helps support skin hydration, comfort, and barrier function, making it especially useful for dry, rough, or compromised skin. It is commonly used in balms, ointments, and massage oils where long lasting moisture and skin conditioning are desired.

Applied to the ends of dry hair, castor oil helps soften, protect, and reduce the appearance of split ends. It is also widely used in traditional castor oil packs as part of self care and massage rituals.

This oil is extracted using a cold press process only, with no chemical solvents used at any stage.

Packaging note
Our 1L and 5L sizes are supplied in food grade, cosmetic approved HDPE bottles. For those who prefer glass, we recommend decanting into a glass container and storing away from light.

Traditional context
Castor oil has a long history of traditional external use across many cultures, including Ayurvedic practices in India and folk remedies in parts of Europe and the Canary Islands. These historical uses form part of the cultural background of castor oil, though modern use is primarily focused on topical skin and hair care.

Safety note
This oil is intended for external use only. Castor oil is best applied to intact skin or used as part of cosmetic formulations. It is not recommended for use on open, infected, or non healing wounds. If a skin concern persists or worsens, advice from a qualified healthcare professional is recommended.
