Benzoin Sumatra Resinoid is crafted from the precious resin "tears" produced by the Styrax tree, native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. Renowned for its fixative qualities, this resinoid plays a vital role in perfumery, incense creation, and religious practices across cultures, particularly in orthodox Christian and Hindu traditions. Known for its rich, sweet, and balsamic scent, Benzoin Sumatra owes its warm fragrance profile to its natural vanillin content.

Production Details:
The resin collection process begins with incisions made in the bark of Styrax trees aged between 7 to 10 years. The resulting resin, gathered year-round, undergoes careful extraction involving ethanol. This method allows for different end products: Benzoin Sumatra Resinoid, when the ethanol washes are concentrated at room temperature, and Benzoin Absolute, achieved through a chilled concentration. Our Benzoin Sumatra resinoid is prepared and quality-tested in Grasse, France, ensuring high standards and authenticity.
