Basil Sweet Chavicol (Certified Organic) essential oil has a slightly coarse, sweet-herbaceous aroma with a slight camphoraceous tinge. Useful for mental focus, especially when studying and for exams. Can help with coughs, sinusitis and emphysema when diffused into the air. A very powerful essential oil that needs to be used in low doses and with care.

Description:  Yellow- pale green, with a slightly coarse, sweet-herbaceous scent – slight camphoraceous tinge - very different from Sweet Basil.

Actions: Antidepressant, Antiseptic, Febrifuge, Nervine, Restorative, Stomachic, General Tonic, Antispasmodic, Cephalic, Digestive, Emmenagogue, Galactagogue, Prophylactic.

Special use: sometimes known as “Tulsi” in Ayurvedic Medicine. Useful for mental focus, esp when studying or exams. Used in fragrances, dental products, meat products and savouries. Stimulates the adrenal cortex.

Blends Well With: Bergamot, Neroli, Rosewood, Sandalwood, All Citrus, Frankincense, Cedarwood, Coriander, Patchouli, Vetiver, Rose.

Safety Data: This Basil is mainly methyl chavicol 70-90%  it can be irritating to the skin and may cause headaches when used in high dose - recommend low dose usage. To be avoided in pregnancy, with children and the elderly.
