Botanical Name: Lavandula angustifolia (Cultivar: 'Avice Hill')
Country of Origin: New Zealand (Canterbury Plains)
Cultivation: Spray-free, New Zealand grown
Extraction Method: Steam Distillation
Plant Part Processed: Flowering Tops
Perfumery Note: Middle Note
Aroma Profile: Clear, soft, and sweet with a rounded floral scent and negligible camphor
Primary Constituents: High Linalyl acetate; naturally low Linalool (11–17%)
Solubility: Readily miscible (mixes completely) in perfumer's alcohol (ethanol) and fixed carrier oils
Formulation & Safety Guidelines:
Dermal Limits & Clinical Safety: According to International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards, Lavandula angustifolia is unrestricted for dermal use. Due to its naturally reduced linalool content, the 'Avice Hill' cultivar lowers the risk of contact dermatitis (allergic or irritant skin inflammation) in sensitive individuals; however, adhering to standard clinical guidelines, a cosmetic dilution of 1% to 2% in a suitable carrier oil or emulsion base is recommended for facial applications, and up to 3% to 5% for body massage [3].
Storage & Degradation: Although this cultivar contains significantly less linalool than standard lavender oils, its terpene and ester constituents remain susceptible to autoxidation (chemical breakdown when exposed to air) over time, which can form sensitising peroxides [3]. Ensure the bottle is kept tightly sealed and store in a cool, dark environment away from direct UV light and heat. When stored correctly, this essential oil maintains optimal stability for 24 to 36 months.
Critical Warnings: For external cosmetic and aromatic use only. Do not ingest under any circumstances. Do not apply undiluted directly to the skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or managing specific medical conditions, consult a qualified healthcare practitioner prior to regular application. Perform a standard 24-hour patch test prior to initial topical use.

Zurma Essential Oils – Highest Quality Pure and Natural
At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.
The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.
Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.

This is a new lavender oil but just as beautiful as the others
Great quality
I love this type of lavender. Its more gentle and subtle than the other lavender oils, but very relaxing and calming without the worry of adding too much that stimulates. I mix this in a carrier oil with Indian Sandalwood and Myrcene - Terpene oils to create the most wonderful scented calming and sedative lotion for night time. As always Zurma quality. Love ❤️
I love the smell 😍! Very good quality!
To ensure our essential oils are not diluted to adulterated, Zurma Essential Oils undergo rigorous testing, including Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) analysis. This meticulous testing process guarantees the purity, potency, and authenticity of our oils.
