Summer Skin Spritz – Aloe & Hydrosol Toner for Sun-Stressed Skin
Share
Long days in the sun can leave skin feeling tight, flushed, and depleted. Even with sun protection, exposure to heat and UV light can lead to dryness, surface irritation, and the slow onset of sun damage. A well-crafted botanical spritz can offer instant relief—cooling the skin, replenishing hydration, and supporting recovery with gentle plant extracts.
This summer skin spritz is designed for use after sun exposure, especially for skin that feels hot, sensitive, or mildly sunburnt. It combines anti-inflammatory hydrosols with soothing aloe vera gel and moisture-binding glycerine. The formula is made for fresh use—free of synthetic preservatives and suitable for sensitive or reactive skin types.
Why These Ingredients Work
Lavender Hydrosol is calming and cooling—an excellent first aid botanical for inflamed or overheated skin.
Aloe Vera Gel is rich in polysaccharides that support skin repair, while offering a light film-forming hydration.
Glycerine helps hold moisture in the skin, preventing peeling and dryness post-burn.
Distilled Water provides a soft, neutral base to dilute actives for a light misting effect.
This simple, effective formula works best when stored in the fridge and used within 7–10 days.
After-Sun Aloe Spritz – Recipe (100ml)
50ml Lavender Hydrosol (Zurma’s is certified organic)
30ml Distilled Water
15ml Aloe Vera Gel (Zurma’s blend includes lavender hydrosol and sodium citrate for skin comfort)
5ml Vegetable Glycerine (or less if skin is oily)
Mix the aloe and glycerine in a clean bowl. Slowly stir in the hydrosol and distilled water until evenly combined. Bottle into a sterile spray container. Store in the refrigerator and use generously on sun-stressed areas—face, neck, shoulders, and anywhere skin feels hot or tight.
Optional Variations
Add 5ml Rose Hydrosol to enhance hydration and gentle cooling for delicate skin.
Use Peppermint Hydrosol (up to 10ml) in place of lavender for an icy, stimulating spritz—great for heat exhaustion (but avoid if skin is deeply irritated).
For children or ultra-sensitive skin, omit glycerine and use only aloe + hydrosol + water.
This spritz is not a substitute for sun protection, but it helps skin recover beautifully from long, hot days. If signs of serious sunburn appear—blistering, swelling, or nausea—seek medical care. Otherwise, pair this mist with shade, hydration, and a nourishing after-sun oil for full support
