Make Your Own Body Oils Using Zurma’s Nut & Seed Oils

Looking to simplify your skincare routine and support your skin naturally? One of the easiest and most nourishing ways is by blending your own body oil using pure plant oils. Our bodies love oils that come from seeds and nuts—rich in nutrients, easy to absorb, and free from synthetic fillers.

At Zurma Botanical Oil Studio, we stock a wide range of certified organic and cold-pressed nut and seed oils, along with carefully sourced high quality essential oils. Here’s how to make your own body oil blend tailored to your skin type.

Why Body Oils?

Using body oils can help:

-Restore moisture and maintain skin softness

-Protect the skin barrier

-Offer a calming self-care ritual—especially when infused with essential oils

-Apply straight after your shower while your skin is still damp to help lock in hydration.

What Your Skin Needs

Dry Skin: Needs rich, slow-absorbing oils with more oleic acid to deeply moisturise and support elasticity.

Oily or Acne-Prone Skin: Benefits from lightweight oils high in linoleic acid that won’t clog pores.

Sensitive Skin: Requires gentle, soothing oils and minimal fragrance.

Normal or Combination Skin: Does best with a balanced blend—not too heavy, not too light.

Recipes

1. Deep Restore Oil – For Dry or Mature Skin

Base oils:

40ml Sweet Almond Oil

30ml Avocado Oil

20ml Rosehip Oil

10ml Vitamin E Natural

Essential oils:

5 drops Frankincense

5 drops Geranium

3 drops Lavender

Why it works:
Sweet almond and avocado oils are beautifully emollient, helping to soften and replenish. Rosehip supports skin regeneration, while the essential oils offer cell-renewing, skin-toning benefits.

2. Clear Balance Oil – For Oily or Acne-Prone Skin

Base oils:

40ml Hemp Seed Oil

30ml Jojoba Oil

20ml Rosehip Oil

10ml Tamanu Oil

Essential oils:

4 drops Tea Tree

4 drops Lemon (steam distilled)

2 drops Lavender

Why it works:
These oils help regulate sebum production and support clear skin. Hemp, jojoba and rosehip oils are lightweight and won’t clog pores. Tamanu is excellent for scars and blemishes.

3. Sensitive Soul Oil – For Reactive or Delicate Skin

Base oils:

50ml Apricot Kernel Oil

30ml Calendula-Infused Oil

20ml Rosehip Oil

Essential oils:

3 drops German Chamomile

3 drops Lavender

2 drops Sandalwood

Why it works:
This blend is ultra-soothing and calming. Apricot and jojoba are ideal for sensitive skin, and German Chamomile is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Great for irritated or reactive skin.

4. Everyday Radiance Oil – For Normal or Combination Skin

Base oils:

40ml Almond Oil

30ml Jojoba Oil

20ml Rosehip Oil

10ml Vitamin E Natural

Essential oils:

4 drops Ylang Ylang

4 drops Orange Sweet

2 drops Cedarwood Atlas

Why it works:
Balanced and nourishing without being too heavy. This blend hydrates while maintaining skin harmony. The essential oils bring a soft floral-woody aroma that’s uplifting and grounding.
