Distilled from the deep, complex root systems of the Vetiveria zizanioides grass native to Haiti, this exceptional Vetiver Essential Oil is produced using hydro-diffusion—a slower, pressurised steam distillation method. This gentle process brilliantly preserves the delicate aromatic complexity of the root, resulting in an incredibly rich, thick, and dark reddish-brown oil. It offers a beautifully refined, intensely smoky, and sweet aroma that is profoundly grounded with an earthy warmth often missing from more commonly produced, faster-distilled vetiver oils.

In luxury cosmetic formulation and natural perfumery, this hydrodiffused Vetiver is prized as an unparalleled botanical base note and fixative. It serves as a deeply conditioning and replenishing botanical active in restorative skin creams, luxurious evening body oils, and targeted formulations designed to comfort sensitive, oily, or scarred skin profiles. In ambient diffusion, it is universally revered as the "Oil of Tranquillity"—a deeply settling, euphoric essence that creates a calm, restful atmosphere and encourages profound moments of stillness.

Skincare Ritual & Well-being Applications: Within a holistic self-care routine, Hydrodiffused Vetiver is universally revered as the ultimate botanical anchor for the overactive mind. Diffusing just 1–2 drops of this earthy oil helps to dispel vague fears, deeply felt tension, and the nervous exhaustion of a busy day, transforming your space into a sanctuary of profound stillness. When beautifully diluted into a rich nighttime massage oil or an intensive body balm, taking the time to slowly work these warm, smoky notes into tight muscles transforms a functional body care step into a deliberate, euphoric evening ritual that actively restores your central nervous system and prepares you for a deeply restful sleep.

Formulation & Safety Guidelines:
Application: Designed for luxury cosmetic formulation, deep tissue massage blends, natural perfumery, restorative skincare, and emotionally grounding atmospheric scenting.

Formulation Note: This is a thick, highly viscous pure essential oil. It may require gentle warming in a tepid water bath to encourage flow before blending. For topical cosmetic or massage applications, we strictly recommend a standard dilution of 1–2% in a suitable high-quality carrier oil (such as  Jojoba Oil GoldenAlmond Oil Sweet, or Rosehip Seed Oil) or a lipid-based cosmetic emulsion.

Storage: To preserve its deeply complex botanical compounds and thick, resinous character, ensure the bottle is kept tightly closed. Store in a cool, dark environment away from direct UV exposure and extreme heat. Unlike many essential oils, Vetiver famously improves and deepens with age.

Safety: For external cosmetic and atmospheric use only. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and never apply to broken or highly irritated skin.
- General Safety: Vetiver is generally considered non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing when properly diluted.
- Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin when trying a new diluted botanical product. If you are pregnant or under the care of a healthcare professional, consult them before use.

Zurma Essential Oils - Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
