Steam-distilled from the fragrant leaves of the Pogostemon cablin herb, this premium Patchouli Essential Oil is classified as a "Light" variation, presenting a softer, less heavy aromatic profile compared to traditional dark patchouli. It boasts a distinctive, sweet-rich, and penetrating scent that is beautifully musky, exotic, and wonderfully grounding. Often associated with the free-spirited energy of the 1960s and 70s, its calming character famously invokes feelings of peace and deep emotional relaxation.

In advanced cosmetic formulation and holistic skincare, this lighter Patchouli is highly prized for its remarkably restorative and balancing properties. It serves as an exceptional botanical active in intensive skin creams, targeted blemish treatments, and daily moisturisers specifically designed to comfort a wide spectrum of skin profiles—from dry, cracked, and mature skin all the way to oily and acne-prone complexions. By supporting cellular rejuvenation and calming irritation, it promotes a remarkably smooth, healthy-looking appearance. In ambient diffusion, its sweet, earthy notes naturally ground the mind, helping to ease nervous exhaustion, stress, and tension while cultivating a tranquil, comforting atmosphere.

Skincare Ritual & Well-being Applications: Within a holistic self-care routine, Patchouli Essential Oil is universally revered as a profound emotional tonic and skin saviour. Diffusing 3–5 drops of this sweet, musky oil instantly helps to dispel stress-related conditions, quiet nervous exhaustion, and transform your space into a deeply calming, grounding sanctuary. When beautifully diluted into a restorative facial oil or a rich, soothing body cream, taking the time to slowly work these exotic notes into dry or troubled skin transforms a functional bodily care step into a deliberate, euphoric daily ritual that actively restores your emotional equilibrium and leaves the skin feeling exceptionally nourished and balanced.

Formulation & Safety Guidelines:
Application: Designed for restorative cosmetic formulation, targeted acne and dry skin care, natural perfumery, grounding massage oils, and emotionally balancing atmospheric scenting.

Formulation Note: This is a highly concentrated pure essential oil. It serves as a brilliant fixative in natural perfumes, elegantly anchoring lighter top and middle notes to the skin without overpowering them. For topical cosmetic or massage applications, we strictly recommend a standard dilution of 1–2% in a suitable high-quality carrier oil (such as Jojoba Oil Golden, Almond Oil Sweet, or Rosehip Seed Oil) or a lipid-based cosmetic emulsion.

Storage: To preserve its complex botanical compounds and rich, earthy notes, ensure the bottle is kept tightly closed. Store in a cool, dark environment away from direct UV exposure and extreme heat. Like all true Patchouli oils, its aromatic profile deepens and improves as it ages.

Safety: For external cosmetic and atmospheric use only. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and never apply to broken or highly irritated skin.

- General Safety:
Light Patchouli is universally considered non-toxic, non-irritant, and non-sensitizing when properly diluted.

- Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin when trying a new diluted botanical product. If you are pregnant or under the care of a healthcare professional, consult them before use.

Zurma Essential Oils – Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
