Cold-pressed from the fresh, vibrant rinds of the Citrus sinensis fruit, this premium Sweet Orange Essential Oil perfectly captures the bright, sun-drenched essence of the raw botanical. Characterised by a remarkably cheerful, sweet, and zesty aromatic profile, it is universally cherished as one of the most versatile and universally appealing citrus oils in natural formulation and perfumery.

In cosmetic chemistry and holistic skincare, Sweet Orange is highly prized for its naturally clarifying and astringent properties. It serves as an exceptional botanical active in refreshing facial cleansers, brightening body scrubs, and balancing skin tonics designed to refine the appearance of pores and promote a remarkably radiant, healthy-looking complexion. In natural perfumery and atmospheric diffusion, it acts as an effervescent top note, instantly cutting through heavy aromas to deliver a burst of pure, uplifting, and joyful energy to any bespoke blend.

Skincare Ritual & Well-being Applications: Within a holistic self-care routine, Sweet Orange Essential Oil is universally revered as the ultimate botanical "pick-me-up." Diffusing 3–5 drops of this radiantly sweet oil in the morning naturally invigorates the senses, helps to clear mental fog, and cultivates an environment of pure, uplifting positivity. When properly diluted into an energising morning body oil or shower scrub, taking the time to breathe in these bright, joyful notes transforms a functional daily cleansing step into a deliberate, revitalising ritual that actively awakens the mind and leaves the skin feeling beautifully refreshed and radiant.

Formulation & Safety Guidelines:

Application: Designed for refreshing cosmetic formulation, natural perfumery, ambient atmospheric scenting, and uplifting body care blends.

Formulation Note: This is a highly concentrated pure essential oil. For topical cosmetic applications, we strictly recommend a standard dilution of 1–2% in a suitable carrier oil (such as Jojoba, Sweet Almond, or Fractionated Coconut Oil) or a lipid-based cosmetic emulsion.

Storage: Citrus essential oils are naturally rich in limonene, making them more susceptible to oxidation than other botanicals. To preserve its fresh aromatic profile and prevent the formation of skin-sensitising compounds, ensure the bottle is kept tightly closed. We highly recommend storing this oil in the refrigerator, or in a consistently cool, dark environment away from direct UV exposure.

Safety: For external cosmetic and atmospheric use only. Do not apply undiluted to the skin and never apply to broken or irritated skin.
  • Phototoxicity Note: While cold-pressed Sweet Orange is generally considered to have a very low risk of phototoxicity compared to other citrus oils (like Lemon or Bergamot), it is still best practice to avoid direct, prolonged sun exposure immediately after applying it to the skin in high concentrations.
  • Always perform a patch test on a small area of skin when trying a new diluted botanical product. If you are pregnant or under medical care, consult a healthcare professional before use.

Zurma Essential Oils - Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
