Loquat Melt & Pour Soap Base
Loquat (Eriobotrya japonica) is a versatile and nutrient-rich plant, well-suited to New Zealand’s climate. Traditionally valued for its soothing properties, loquat leaves contain beneficial compounds such as triterpenes and flavonoids, which may help support skin health. These natural properties make loquat an excellent ingredient for soap, offering gentle nourishment and hydration.
In soap, loquat is used as a natural skin conditioner. It is believed to help maintain skin moisture, promote a smooth texture, and provide a mild, soothing effect. The plant’s natural antioxidants may also support skin regeneration and help protect against environmental stressors.
Our Loquat Melt & Pour Soap Base is easy to work with, creating a creamy, luxurious lather that cleanses the skin while leaving it feeling soft and hydrated. With a mild, neutral pH, it is gentle enough for everyday use.
Proudly made in New Zealand, this soap base melts easily, allowing you to craft your own unique soaps by adding essential oils, botanical butters (such as Shea Butter), or nourishing nut and seed oils. The result? A long-lasting, high-quality soap that offers excellent value.
How to Melt the Soap Base:
- Prepare the soap base – Cut it into small pieces for faster melting.
- Gently heat – Place in a pot on low heat, ensuring it melts without boiling.
- Prepare your soap mould while the base is melting.
- Cool slightly before adding essential oils – If the soap is too hot, the essential oils may evaporate.
- Pour into moulds and leave to set – This soap base hardens quickly.
- Enjoy your handcrafted soap! Once solid, your bars are ready to use.
