Labdanum Absolute

$20.15

The aroma of Labdanum Absolute is robust, deep, rich, sweet balsamic, with a mild herbaceous character and a long ambergris-like backnote. It's widely used in perfumery because of its high fixative value and ability to offer a rich, smooth sweetness and natural undertone. If you only use one balsamic fixative, make it this one.

There are variations that are 50% Labdanum Absolute diluted in Perfumers Alcohol or Fractionated Coconut Oil. Perfect for perfumery!

Botanical Name: Cistus ladaniferus

Part Typically used: Resin

Extraction Method: Solvent extraction

Origin: Spain

Note: Base, very good fixative

Aroma: Delicate, sweet, warm, powdery-floral aroma with mellow woody undertones; very resilient, has good fixative value.

Blends Well With: Balsam Peru, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cedarwood, Champaca Pink, Cinnamon Bark, Cocao, Cypriol, Fir Balsam, Geranium, Jasmine sambac, Jasmine grand, Lotus Pink, Myrhh, Opopanax, Patchouli, Rose Moroc, Sandalwood, Tuberose, Vanilla, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang Extra

PLEASE NOTE: Labdanum Absolute is not recommended for aromatherapy; it is intended for use in perfumery only. It is completely alcohol soluble but has a thick consistency which would benefit from gently warming prior to use.

All absolutes are exceedingly concentrated by nature. Unless you are used to the undiluted aroma, all absolutes should not be appraised in their pure form. We strongly advise those who are unfamiliar with absolutes to identify them only after dilution. Otherwise, people with untrained olfactory sensibilities will be confused by the intricacy of the aroma, particularly the unusual and exotic elements.

Safety Considerations: None known. Dilute before using. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.

Zurma Essential Oils - Highest Quality Pure and Natural

At Zurma we go to great lengths to ensure that we only sell the highest quality pure and natural essential oils. We have searched the world for the best essential oils. Our in-house quality control system ensures that this high standard is maintained for all our essential oils. Every essential oil comes with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GCMS) test to confirm that they are genuine and authentic essential oils containing their correct active constituents.

The only exception to this is with the New Zealand small scale essential oil producers we buy direct from e.g., Lavender, Mānuka, Kānuka, Tea Tree etc. This is because we know and trust these growers who distil their own essential oils.

Finally, all essential oils have to undergo our own in-house smell, appearance and feel test and if they are not up to our high standards, we simply send the product back to the supplier. Based on this quality control process we believe that the 100% Pure and Natural essential oils that Zurma supplies to our customers are of the highest quality and are excellent for use in aromatherapy.
