The oil has approx 27-34% essential fatty acid content, - fatty acids reduce water loss from the surface of the skin allowing for more nourished, hydrated and moisturised skin. NZ Blackcurrant seed oil is full of antioxidants, which help fight free-radical damage within our skin, which can lead to wrinkles, sun spots, inflammation and accelerated skin aging. Antioxidants come in many forms, however the predominant varieties found in Blackcurrants are phenolics (including both anthocyanins and flavonoids) and vitamin C – these NZ berries have some of the highest anthocyanin levels in the world.
