Benzoin Absolute
Styrax plants produce benzoin, which is a resinoid gum. This means it has a hard crunchy consistency like hokey pokey and has a delightfully warm, sweet, woody, vanilla-like aroma. When the fruit from the styrax tree is mature and the leaves are about to fall, the bark is cut, leaving little pockets where the secreted gum tears can be collected. Due to its sweet and warm aroma, benzoin essence is frequently used as a base note in numerous perfumes. It needs to be warmed and diluted in ethenol or a carrier oil to use in perfume.
This material comes in grams as it's a solid. It can be tricky to work with for anyone unfamillier. This needs to be dissolved in ethanol to use in products.
